Founded in 1963, Simmob (short for Société Industrielle Meubles MOdernes Biais) is a family-owned furniture manufacturing company located in Charente-Maritime.

After training as a cabinetmaker and later working as an independent craftsman from the 1950s onward, it was in his native village of Fontaine-Chalendray that Jean Biais founded the small-series furniture workshop that would later give rise to the company Simmob.

In 1968, the founder built a 1,344 m² factory and his house in Matha, the company current location The company then employed 32 people and quickly adopted an industrial approach, developing its flagship product: the tambour door filing cabinet. From then on, the buildings continued to expand and the product range diversified, culminating in the creation of Burocean, a brand of professional office furniture, in 1992.

Chaired by Thérèse Biais since the passing of her husband, Simmob celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2023!

It now covers 16,000 m² of workshops, logistics buildings, and sales premises. Employs nearly 100 people and produces a wide collection of contemporary melamine-coated wood furniture for the office, home office, living room, kitchen, storage, etc.

We design and manufacture our wooden furniture, with over 90% of its value produced in France. We use materials sourced from a local supply network (France and Europe), PEFC-certified panels from sustainably managed forests, and low formaldehyde content (E05 standard). We also recycle and sort our industrial waste in an eco-responsible manner. Our products are designed to promote the separability and recyclability of components, with spare parts available. We offer a 2-year manufacturer's warranty, and up to 5 years for the MATHA and MATHA Duo models.
